Privacy
Effective October 4, 2026
In brief
- We collect what you choose to share with us, to reply to you and to run the searches you commission.
- We never sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
- The site uses no analytics and no tracking cookies.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
- Candidates have their own notice: Candidate privacy.
Who we are
This notice explains how [solved] handles personal information about clients, investors, prospective clients and visitors to this website. [solved] is responsible for that information. You can reach us at privacy@markedsolved.com. If you are a candidate, our Candidate privacy notice applies to you.
What we collect
- Details you send us: your name, work email, phone number, company, company website, role and company stage, and the roles you are hiring for, including any job descriptions you attach.
- Details from calls you book with us, and notes from those calls.
- If you engage us: the information needed to run your search, your agreement with us, and billing details. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card or bank details.
- Introductions from investors: the investor's details and the founder's name, email and company, shared with the founder's agreement.
- Technical information needed for the site to work and stay secure, such as the checks that keep automated submissions out of our forms.
How we use it, and why
- To reply to your enquiry and decide with you whether we are the right firm for your search, because you asked us to (legitimate interests).
- To run a search you commission and meet our agreement with you (contract).
- To keep records required by tax, accounting and other laws (legal obligation).
- To protect our forms and site from misuse (legitimate interests).
We do not use your information to make decisions about you by automated means alone.
Calls and recordings
We record or transcribe a call only if everyone on it agrees at the start. Transcripts are kept while your search is active and deleted within 90 days after it closes. Audio is deleted once the transcript exists.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses no analytics and no tracking or advertising cookies. It uses only what it needs to work, including a security check on our forms that helps us tell people from automated programs. If we add analytics, we will update this notice first.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, under agreements that require them to protect it and use it only for our instructions:
- Our website hosting provider
- Resend, which delivers the emails our forms send
- Cloudflare, which provides the security check on our forms
- Consolto, which we use to schedule and hold calls
- Recruitly, which runs your Hiring Workspace
- Our email provider and our payment processor
- A transcription service, only for calls where everyone has agreed to recording
With your agreement, we share candidate information with you during a search, as described in our Candidate privacy notice. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We never sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where your information is handled
Our team and service providers may handle your information in countries other than your own, wherever we and they operate. When information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland moves to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on recognized safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 12 months after our last contact.
- Client records: for the length of our engagement, then as long as tax, accounting and other laws require.
- Call transcripts: deleted within 90 days after the related search closes.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information. We extend the following to everyone:
- To know what we hold about you and receive a copy
- To correct information that is wrong
- To have your information deleted
- To restrict or object to how we use it
- To receive your information in a portable format
- To withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it
We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To use them, email privacy@markedsolved.com. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your local authority; in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in California, the California Privacy Protection Agency.
California residents
In the past 12 months we have collected identifiers (such as name and email), professional information (such as role and company) and, for candidates, the information described in our Candidate privacy notice, for the purposes described above. We have not sold or shared personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Children
Our services are for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access limited to those who need it, and service providers held to the same standard. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this notice
We will post any changes here, with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell the people affected.
